In 2002 I retired from Daimler Chrysler where I worked for 31 years. And in that same year, with my wife and daughter we moved to Oldsmar, Florida. Retirement has allowed me the time to work on my photography. While I do try to follow the standard rule of thirds type of photography, I consider myself more of a specimen photographer. For over 35 years I have been photographing nature. While living in upstate New York I was surrounded by nature’s beauty. It started as a way of filling in the time between hunting seasons. But I soon found myself seeing nature for what it really meant to me. I saw nature as the beauty that surrounds us. Nature knows no season or time. Nature never dies but it is forever being born. It is constantly changing and being seen in different ways. Since we did not create nature we should not try to alter it. I photograph nature the way I see it, and then leave it the same way for the next person to enjoy. Capturing the beauty of nature on film or digitally enables me to share what I see reflected in my photographs. Nature was not meant to be altered by technology, and for that reason only minor cropping and color corrections are done to my images. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the North American Nature Photography Association. My work has been on display in Gift shops and Museums across the country. It has been published in magazines, media brochures, and field guides.
